Girls and Boys Brigade |
BOY'S BRIGADE The past twelve months have been busy ones for the boys in Waverley Boy's Brigade. 2005 started with the 15th Pan Australian Camp at Stanwell Tops. All the boys gained the Pentapac Award at Gold Level; an excellent result. At Battalion level our No.2 Section Boys won their section at the Swimming Carnival with our No.1 Section lads coming 2nd in theirs. Also Glen Reilly took out the individual point score. We were also successful in winning the the Junior Corner ball and retained the Most Efficient Squad Trophy and fought out a close finish for 2nd in the Volley Ball. |
GIRL'S BRIGADE We give praise and thanks to God for the past year and all its blessings. Taronga Zoo Visit: On April 1st the Girl's Brigade NSW organised a Statewide visit to the Taronga Zoo as their bi-annual State Function. We had 13 of our girls and junior boys brigade members and families attend this outing which was a great fun day and a first time visit to the zoo for some. 1800 Girls Brigaders and their families and friends spent a wonderful day and a cheque for $5,000 was presented to the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation. |

The band has had a few outings with a busy day at the Anzac Day March and also the 60th Anniversary Parade celebrating the end of WWII.
Our No.2 Section Boys had a
successful Easter Camp in the Mettalong Valley which most of our No. 2
Section boys attended. The weather was fine and plenty of fun, both in
the Valley and at Blackheath and Katoomba. Due to transport deficiencies
we didnt have canoeing this year but instead a trip to Katoomba to walk
down the 1,000 steps and through the Jamieson Valley floor and up via
the new sky lift at the Scenic Railway Centre.
Other activities have included The Annual Ten Pin Bowling Challenge with the girls; assisting Lugar Brae's 'South Pacific' production; City to Surf and the annual Jumble Sale. If you would like to join Boy's Brigade; we meet at CMP Thursday (Anchor Boys) and Friday (Section 1) nights.
